In theory, health insurance needs analysis is fairly simple. For most people, conducting an HINA is the first step towards making an overall comprehensive health plan. Many (if not most) health insurance advisors use this first when meeting with new clients.

With a HINA, you examine your overall health coverage position. The purpose of the exercise is to understand how much access you need compared with your current situation—doctors, dentists, vision centers, etc. Once you understand how much you need vs. want, you can structure your health plan based on a Budget and overall health access goals.
